A Four-Valued Logic for Rough Set-Like Approximate Reasoning
This paper extends the basic rough set formalism introduced by Pawlak [1] to a rule-based knowledge representation language, called Rough Datalog, where rough sets are represented by predicates and described by finite sets of rules. The rules allow us to express background knowledge involving rough concepts and to reason in such a knowledge base. The semantics of the new language is based on a ...
متن کاملTableau Calculi for Answer Set Programming
We introduce a formal proof system based on tableau methods for analyzing computations made in Answer Set Programming (ASP). Our approach furnishes declarative and fine-grained instruments for characterizing operations as well as strategies of ASP-solvers. First, the granulation is detailed enough to capture the variety of propagation and choice operations of algorithms used for ASP; this also ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Rough Set Theory for Decision Making of rehabilitation Method for Concrete Pavement
In recent years a great number of advanced theoretical - empirical methods has been developed for design & modeling concrete pavements distress. But there is no reliable theoretical method to be use in evaluation of conerete pavements distresses and making a decision about repairing them. Only empirical methods is used for this reason. One of the most usual methods in evaluating concrete paveme...
متن کاملParaconsistent Logic Programs with Four-Valued Rough Sets
This paper presents a language for defining four-valued rough sets and to reason about them. Our framework brings together two major fields: rough sets and paraconsistent logic programming. On the one hand it provides a paraconsistent approach, based on four-valued rough sets, for integrating knowledge from different sources and reasoning in the presence of inconsistencies. On the other hand, i...
متن کاملAnalytic Tableau Calculi for KLM Rational Logic R
In this paper we present a tableau calculus for the rational logic R of default reasoning, introduced by Kraus, Lehmann and Magidor. Our calculus is obtained by introducing suitable modalities to interpret conditional assertions, and makes use of labels to represent possible worlds. We also provide a decision procedure for R, and study its complexity.
